Christmas Fair Meeting
There will be an in-person meeting on Saturday, October 29 at 10 am in Fellowship Hall for those who can help at the Christmas Fair.

Hurricanes 2022 Emergency Appeal from the UCC
Hello friends,
The UCC has issued an appeal to support immediate needs for families and communities affected by Hurricanes Fiona and Ian.  If you would like to give to this cause, please send or bring a check to the church noting Hurricanes 2022 on your check. Thank you for considering this appeal.

A TRIMMED BUSH…….
What a difference it makes when the bushes have been cut back, over-growth removed, trees cut back or down……all of these happened last week when Leah, Gary and Lois got serious about cleaning up the front of the church buildings. Not only were there way too many out- of -control plants and greenery, but it was hiding our very attractive church buildings. (now the buildings seem to be saying, “whew, we can breath again! ) I saw at least 2 large trailer loads of of debris taken away and plans are already in the pipeline for fresh plantings with a more easily controlled landscaping plan in mind. So, between George and his lawnmowing / trimming care and Gary, Leah and Lois doing a major clean out, NYCC is looking real good. Thank you so much for caring.

Coffee Hour going Forward
Coffee hour will resume with home made baked goods, fruits and crackers and cheese. We will use up the pre wrapped goodies eventually. We will have a sign up sheet in the gathering space for signing up for making coffee and also bringing baked goods on any given Sunday. Any unused bakery items can be wrapped thoroughly and frozen for future use. Marsha Heath, Moderator

Annual Reports
It’s not too early for those who will be writing a report for the Annual Report to start their engines, I mean REPORTS, now.  At least thinking about them.  It’s uncomfortable for me to hassle, beg, twist arms. or threaten folks to get reports in to Lyn at church office. Sooooo, that is not going to happen. I will send out reminders for the next several weeks and would appreciate reports in by early December. Send to nyarmouthccucc@gmail.com, please.
Jeanne Chadbourne,   Church Clerk

A Note from the Men’s Club
The Men’s Club would like to thank all, particularly the Women’s Fellowship/Tuesday Gals for the cookies, fudge and bars to sell.  This effort helped make our booth at Cumberland Fair a success this year. North Yarmouth Congregational Church Men’s Club

A Note from the Nominating Committee
Friends, it is time to tap your energy by joining one of our church committees. We have several openings and we would welcome your help. (Trustees, Diaconate, Faith Formation, Missions, Nominating Committee, Flower Committee). Please let me know if you are interested. My email is apgraham1@gmail.com or just catch me at church.
Thank you, Annie Graham, NYCC Vice Moderator

Fall Church Cleanup Day
Fall Clean up day has been scheduled for Saturday, November 12 starting at 9am.

News from Women’s Fellowship/Tuesday GalsThe Women’s Fellowship/Tuesday Gals will hold the Christmas fair on Saturday, November 19th, following any CDC guidelines in effect at that time.

We will need workers – Are folks thinking about how they can contribute to Santa’s workshop?  Before, during and after?  We need crafts, baked goods, candy, cookies; plants.  Help setting up on fair day, day of fair work, giving workers breaks during and help cleaning up.  There will be an in-person meeting on Saturday, October 29 at 10 am for those who can help.  If you cannot come or don’t want to meet in person at this time, please let Kathy(254-7509, kwhit119@yahoo.com or Gail (207-450-1612, gail.strattard@maine.rr.com) know.

We hope you will help us make this fair a success.  Proceeds from the fair go to Women’s Fellowship and are used for church and benevolence purposes. Santa’s Workshop Fair Cookie Walk
The Santa’s Workshop Fair is fast approaching on November 19th, and now is the perfect time to break out your favorite recipes and begin baking up a storm to delight our patrons for our Carol’s Cookie Walk and Baked Goods table.  Decorated sugar cookies are always a big hit but even the simplest chocolate chip cookie is welcomed, along with seasonal breads and pies, yummy brownies and bars, and delicious jams and jellies.  These items can be dropped off  the day before or early morning at the start of the fair.  If pickup is needed, please call Sue at 831-9014 to arrange a time.  Happy baking!

Silent Auction for the Christmas Fair
The 2022 Santa’s Workshop is coming together. We finally held a fair last year after 2 years without a fair.  Bet you can guess why!!  We would like to add the silent auction back into the fair this year and we need your help!

We’re pulling a silent auction together with a small number of gifts.  We’d like a few more!!  Do you have a place in the mountains to offer for skiers?  You can decide the number of days being offered and when the place will be available.  This could be limited to church family if you’d like.  What about a summer cottage for those
who like to sit in the sunshine?  Again, you can decide what dates and can limit it to church family.

Perhaps you’ve canned fruit and veggies.  Sew, knit, paint a scene?  Or will cook/bake a meal. You choose the menu to be listed on the bid sheet.  Are you a photographer and will take pictures of the winners’ choosing?   You get to choose the date available.  What about lawn mowing, clearing out the garden next spring?  Gift Certificates are always popular!          If you’d like to discuss this, I need you to email me or call.  I’m here and there and hardly know when I’ll be home.  So after 9am to 7:30pm call 233-8914.    2sons@maine.rr.com.   Thank you! Candace Smith

Jewelry Request for the Christmas Fair
Are you sure of what’s in your jewelry box or drawer?  Got some items to go with a particular outfit and that’s no longer in your closet?  Tuesday Gals would adore having the items for our guests at the Santa’s Workshop fair.  What about lapel pins, rings, tie tacks, chains for men?  Please bring your items to Lyn in the church office.  Or stop in and chat with Tuesday Gals; we are in the Fellowship Hall starting at 10:00 am. Of course, we’d enjoy seeing you and maybe you’d like a cup of coffee.  Think of the jewelry as getting a new life!!
