Welcome Statement, further discussion—We are planning to have additional discussions about the church welcome statement following the conclusion of the May 15th congregational meeting. As a reminder, we approved this statement at our recent annual meeting. We agreed that it will be treated as a living document, in need of periodic review and discussion. Please join us on the 15th for additional discussion of this important document. Thank you! Marsha Heath, Moderator
A HEADS UP!!!
Our church “family” is feeling the economic constraints that families everywhere are experiencing. Our budget is being challenged with really high utility bills, office supplies have gone up….you know the story. And then we have the situation that occurred over the weekend where the hot water faucet was left on in the men’s room and I ‘ve heard, it felt like a sauna in there on Monday morning. This not only wasted a lot of hot water, but think what effect it will have on the power bill. Also a back door was left open at least one overnight.
Some situations we can control, some we cannot, but one positive way we can do something that will help a little is for folks to consider paying their share of the Conference dues. We were billed $1912.92 for our membership. To date folks have sent in $366.00. The dues are about $19.00 per person.
There are several factors affecting our finances….lower than expected pledges, little loose offering, (because we have not been in church on Sunday morning), certainly the pandemic, and for sure, inflation. We have a couple of new fund raisers in the works, Lyn is successfully getting rentals for space usage. Our strawberry festival and yard sale have helped significantly. If anyone has any ideas to help out, let someone know. From the Financial Secretary’s Desk
Masks are now optional in the church building. Please use your own judgement regarding wearing one. We will continue to adhere to social distancing in the sanctuary and in Fellowship Hall.
