Weekly News for April 11, 2018

Youth Group News
April 15th: The youth group will travel to Harpswell for a church community service project and fundraiser. We will be helping Pastor Nancy with a series of yardwork projects, so please dress appropriately. Lunch will follow.

Spring Talent Show: The Youth Group will be hosting the Spring Talent Show in the Fellowship Hall on the evening of Saturday, May 19th. Start thinking about your hidden talent as we will be inviting ALL church members to perform at this fun community gathering! Proceeds from concessions will fund our year-end outing.

Bible Study
Sundays at 8:30am in Fellowship Hall we will study the book of James. All are welcome.

Patriots’ Day
Monday, April 16 is Patriots’ Day. (Patriots’ Day commemorates the battles of Lexington and Concord, which were fought near Boston in 1775.  Maine was a province of Massachusetts until it became a State in 1820). The Church office will be closed.

Coffee Hour
We do not have any people signed up for coffee hour in April, May or June (that is as far ahead as we go at a time) and we need some one for next week! As well as the following weeks! Thanks for letting Pat Field and/or Susan Elliott know if you will do it. There will also be a sign-up sheet on the front table.

Rummage Sale
It’s that time again for our spring Rummage Sale, which will be held on Saturday, April 21, from 9:00-2:00 in the Fellowship Hall. We will be collecting items DURING THE WEEK OF APRIL 16-20 so that they can be left upstairs and avoid the carrying. We will take clothing, shoes, purses and bags, books and CDs/DVDs, toys, holiday items, linens, china, glassware, tools, and anything salable except electronics. Small appliances only if new in boxes. For more information, please contact Kathy Whittier or Gail Strattard

Spring Work Day
We will hold a Spring Work Day on Saturday, April 28 from 8:00 am to Noon to do yard work, lawn clean up, storm windows/screens, etc. All help is appreciated.

Handicap Access Improvement to Choir Area
Chris Dahlgren will be available after church on Sunday, April 15th and Sunday, April 20th to informally explain what we are considering could be done. We recognize that anything of this magnitude at the front of our Sanctuary is very important to the membership and must be carefully considered.

Missions Presentation
The Missions Board’s presentation of their work and projects this past Sunday was amazingly wonderful and so thorough ! They are right out there helping people in need ……….local and world wide. NYCC is blessed AND involved.
Kudos, Missions folks
