Save the Week of February 9, 2018 for Building Chicken Pies

The February 9th CHICKEN PIE SALE is a significant fund-raiser for our church, which helps us, in turn, be able to give back to the community at large…it’s a win-win! We have many enthusiastic patrons who have already ordered our delicious chicken pies and incomparable gravy.

Now we need enthusiastic volunteers who would like to be part of a fun-loving team to create 350 chicken pies! Bring a friend along, too.

Please block out these dates in your 2018 calendars and let Pam know if you can help:

– February 5, Monday, 1-3 pm, weigh and create dough balls (need 8 volunteers)

– February 6, Tuesday, 1-4 pm pick chicken (need 8 volunteers)

– February 8, Thursday, 8-11 am, roll pie bottoms (need 8 volunteers)

– February 9, Friday, 9-11 am, roll pie tops (need 8 volunteers)

11:30-2:30 pm, assemble those yummy chicken pies to be boxed and sold (need 10 volunteers) Friday, February 9 volunteers: We will be taking a lunch break so please bring your own or a potluck lunch to share……or you can go home for lunch.

Also during that week, we’re looking for volunteers to perform other tasks, such as assembling the pie boxes, cutting up frozen chicken from Sysco, daily dishwashing/kitchen clean up (Tuesday, Thursday, Friday) and help making the gravy (Thursday 9-1:30).

Thank you in advance for blocking out the week of February 5-9. We sincerely appreciate any and all help you can give. Just the aromas in the kitchen will be enough to cheer you up during this bleak time of year…to say nothing of the fellowship we’ll all enjoy!

There will be a Volunteer sign-up sheet in the Gathering Space for the Chicken Pie Sale. Hopefully, there will be a task of interest to you.

A Special Thank You!

Dear Friends, Thank you so much for the monetary gift at Christmas time. It certainly came in handy during the holidays. As your Sexton, I sure can’t wait to get the parking lot paved. “Pavement Capital Campaign?” Hint Hint!
