Spruce Up to Lift Up Capital Campaign

Don’t forget the Matching Fund opportunity that will help so much as the Church Trustees are trying to raise $12,000 to paint the church steeple and the outside of Fellowship Hall and replace carpeting in Fellowship Hall. The painting of the church has been completed and looks beautiful. This campaign will finish up September 11. Thank you!

Men’s Club-Cumberland Fair

The Men’s Club is once again looking for volunteers to work a shift or shifts at our food booth at the Cumberland Fair. We will be once again serving breakfast(8:00-11:00 am), lunch(11:00-4:00 pm) and supper (4:00-8:00 pm). Our fare will be the same as last year; breakfast sandwiches, hamburgers, hot dogs, grilled cheese, and assorted drinks.

There will be a sign up board in the Gathering Space soon for those interested. If you have any questions or want to call in to volunteer, please call Norm Smith as he’s handling the work scheduling. Norm Smith: Home# 829-5802 Cell# 749-8462

Women’s Fellowship/Tuesday Gals
WF/Tuesday Gals will be taking a field trip to Kay’s house on Tuesday, September 6th. Please meet at the church by 8:20 in order to leave at 8:30 am.

Homecoming Potluck/Pool Party
This year’s Homecoming/Potluck and Pool party will take place at Mark and Marsha Heath’s house at 534 New Gloucester Rd, in North Yarmouth at 12 Noon. Please bring a dish or dessert to share. Don’t forget your bathing suit and towel! Please sign up on the sign up sheet and let us know what you will be bringing to share.

Choir
The search for a new choir director is still ongoing. Nancy has asked that we work with Linda and Pete to provide music until a new director is hired. She would like for us to sing at Homecoming Sunday which is in a few weeks. So, we are going to meet after church next Sunday, Sept. 4, to discuss our options. We can sing some of the pieces that we know really well or do hymns, whatever we decide. Please let me know if you can be there. Thanks. Priscilla

Christmas Baskets Donations.

We Need help to filling the raffle baskets. There is a list of the items needed in front of the basket for donated goods. The collection basket/box is located in the Gathering Space. We appreciate all the help to make the Christmas Basket Raffle a success! If anyone would rather donate money instead of shopping, we will do the shopping! All you need to do is let Terri, or any of the Tuesday gals aware of the money donation! All of the TUESDAY GALS thank you for all your HELP!

This and That

1) The next church council meeting will be on THURSDAY SEPT. 22 at 6:30 pm.

2 ) We have an offer of truck and trailer and also someone who is willing to help with any “construction” if necessary for a FUNDAY float. Funday is Sat. Sept.17th. It would be a really good time to put our church out there. There are several new young families in North Yarmouth now and what a “soft” way to say Hi, and here’s a little bit about us. We don’t have to prepare a Grand Prize float, but we do some things that we can be proud of……ie Chicken Pie events,( Rumor has it that Rev. Nancy is willing to wear a chicken costume ! * ) Pet Pantry, ( Tim offered to hold a Pet Pantry sign ). Our children’s special presentations are just that, really special .Where is the Donkey? There’s going to be a Blessing of the Animals later in the Fall and all are welcome to get in on this event. Anyway, if we do this we need a leader ,and you would not be expected to do it all the work.
